I work with people and their pets to have good relationships

by developing good manners and resolving behavioral issues by building a repertoire of desired behaviors using positive reinforcement and play.

Advantages of Virtual Training

  • It is convenient

You can work from the comfort of your own home.

  • You can do it anywhere

You can be anywhere and still get personal training or take classes. I have worked with people from Anchorage, Alaska to Isreal.

  • It saves time

You are already there. Because you can do it right in your home you can save time on commuting!

  • It’s more comfortable for your pet

There are fewer distractions. Fearful or anxious pets feel safer so can learn more easily. Reactive or overexcited pets can focus more easily.

  • The skills can be used latter

You develop the tools you need to help your pet handle previously difficult situations, whether on walks, in-person training, or in group classes.

Dog Parkour

Dog Parkour is the canine version of urban agility.

The goal is for your dog to move through the landscape playing with whatever happens to be there. Your dog leans basic skills that include putting 2 front feet on, all 4 feet on, going under or over, going around, walking on a narrow surface, or rebounding off of vertical surfaces. It builds both your dog’s fitness and confidence while also developing a sense of self control and thoughtfulness. It’s designed to be a sport dogs can participate in for their entire life.

Parkour can be practiced anywhere. Outside this might be on your walk using fences, retaining walls, bike racks, fire hydrants or street poles. In a park there are park benches, picnic tables, logs, stumps, gates, trash cans, and trees or maybe a playground. You can also play in your house using chairs, step stools, broom sticks, cushions, or boxes. The possibilities are limitless.

What sets Dog Parkour apart from other dog sports?

Creativity.

There is no limit to what you can use to play with and creating new moves is encouraged. Dogs sometimes even invent their own. It can also be modified for dogs of any age and skill level including elderly dogs and young puppies.

Physical disabilities, such as hip dysplasia, being a tripod, and arthritis can be accommodated with modifications of moves and I’m currently developing a new parkour course for blind dogs.

Join the Facebook Group

Once you have taken a class you are eligible to join the Nimble Paws Dog Parkour private Facebook group. You can post pictures and videos of what your dog is doing and ask any questions you might have.

Attend Events

You are also eligible to join us for Parkour in the Park events. We meet up as a group to practice parkour in different locations in the area.

Anyone is free to suggest a location and time. I facilitate your dog’s learning to work with novel items in different environments. It’s an opportunity to meet and work with other people in the sport.

Workshops

Walking Manners

2 hour workshop, Good for dogs of all ages.
Outside in Germantown section of Philadelphia
None scheduled at this time

Learn basic techniques for teaching your dog that the best place to walk is near you. Your dog learns how to engage with you during the walk while still having lots of time for sniffing and other fun dog activities. Dogs pull because their natural pace is faster than ours and walking in a straight line is definitely NOT the way a dog would prefer to walk. Dogs need to be taught how to walk politely with their human. This workshop can start the process.

Email Badog.Goodog.Trainer@gmail.com to let me know you are interested in being informed when the next one is scheduled.

Canine Social Skills (dog to dog)

2 hour workshop, Good for dogs of all ages.
Outside in Germantown section of Philadelphia
None scheduled at this time

There are a lot of dogs in our world these days, but the structure of how our dogs live tends to make it difficult for them to learn appropriate dog social skills. Learn what we mean by socialization and how to do it properly so your dog learns to be polite when another dog is nearby. Learn the difference between how your dog should interact, or not, with an unfamiliar dog and how to act with a doggy best friend. If your dog does need to meet a new dog, learn how to set it up for a successful first time greeting. This is a workshop for dogs that basically like other dogs but who may be a little overenthusiastic. It is NOT a reactive dog workshop.

Email Badog.Goodog.Trainer@gmail.com to let me know you are interested in being informed when the next one is scheduled.
